Mexican Coffee

As you probably already know I love coffee. It is the one thing I can't give up. I am not "right" until I had my first cup of coffee. Spoken like a true addict I am sure. The rich color, smooth flavor and the warmth of the mug just takes me to my happy place. As if any of us coffee lovers needed an excuse to drink coffee after dinner here is my Mexican Coffee Recipe.

One thing my husband and I do indulge on is our coffee. We are platinum members on Keurig.com, we have an espresso machine, Keurig machine, a coffee grinder, k-cup pod holder and flavored syrups on our kitchen counter. We have a decked out coffee bar right in our kitchen.

Working from home there is no justification in driving to a local coffee shop for premium coffee drinks. It is just more affordable making them at home. I might drink 3 vanilla lattes in one day. At a local coffee house that could cost up to $12. At a restaurant a Mexican Coffee can cost up to $9. Ouch! Take your coffee seriously and start brewing at home!

Mexican Coffee

Makes 1 
Ingredients
3 oz. espresso
3 oz. steamed milk or half & half
1 oz. vanilla syrup
1 oz. Kahlua coffee liqueur
a dash of cinnamon and a pinch to sprinkle on top.
whipped cream for topping

Directions
Brew espresso and steam milk using an espresso machine.
In a mug pour in espresso, vanilla syrup, Kahlua, and a dash of cinnamon and stir.
Pour in steamed milk.
Top with whipped cream and sprinkle the top with cinnamon.
Serve immediately.
