Year-Round Giving: Birding: American Goldfinch

Birding: American Goldfinch

The American Goldfinch is one of my favorite backyard visitors. In the summer they feast on my Sunflowers and Black Eyed Susans. In the Fall they are a regular visitor to my sunflower seed stocked bird feeder. The Goldfinch is a widespread resident of North America. They are small but are easy to spot and identify.

Pictured above and below is the male Goldfinch in his breeding colors.  These sunflowers popped up under my bird feeder.

Female in her breeding colors visiting my platform feeder.

Share you photos of the American Goldfinch on my Facebook Page.
